One Night in the Wood
There’s a mysterious sound in wood tonight. People would hear it and cower in fright.
Tis not a laugh or scream, but something in between.
A vacant village, once young and bright, now lays about, in lament and fright.
No men, no women, only children reside, their parents gone, like the morning tide.
One by one, they vanished at first. Then two by two they went and cursed.
This went until only one remained. A man of the holy, whose wife had been claimed.
His daughter, now scared for mother, ran to the woods, in fear of losing another.
